Amusement Park Roller Coaster Thrill Rides From a Pint Sized Perspective

When you are five years old and 43 inches tall, there are only four rides in all of Hershey Park. According to the good folks at Hershey, there are over 60 rides and attractions , but according to our daughter there are only four: The Comet, Superdooperlooper, Trailblazer and Roller Soaker. If you guessed that these four rides are roller coasters, you probably also guessed that we have a five year old thrill seeker in the family. I am sorry, make that a 43 inch tall five year old. We must keep the facts straight. After all, she did not make me check her height twice a week all winter for nothing. This child has been measured more than a Weight Watchers convention! I guess it all started last year when she rode the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood for the first time, and then again, and again; six times in all that day if memory serves. And mind you, we did not just ride, we waited extra time to sit in front and then extra time to sit in back and I even got a lecture on how to properly rai...

Carnival Rides for Kids

Carnivals and funfairs have a long history of entertaining both adults and children all over the world. Whether it is the creaking anticipation of a roller coaster ride as it rattles away to a start or the intoxicating sway and spinning of a Ferris wheel, the thrill of the adrenalin rush is addictive. These are memories that will last a lifetime. There is something special about that initial thrill as you near the front of a queue for a carnival ride or step up to the counter for a shooting or throwing game. Funfairs and carnival rides can make any adult feel like children again, you only need to look at people's smiling faces to see this. The first carnival rides date back to the 19th century and formed a part of most traveling circus acts. The carnivals were not permanently located and moved with the circuses. Most carnivals combine a series of amusement rides for kids with carnival games and over time the games and rides have incorporated the latest technologies to increase t...

Knoebels' Amusement Park With Different Kinds of Rides

Large trees cover the well worn gravel paths that wind their way through Knoebel's Amusement Park leading park goers to all their favorite park rides and concession stands. The park employees open conversations with anyone who has time to talk and eventually befriend the amusement park regulars. People are relaxed, no one is obligated to ride rides for kids , some simply go to enjoy the lively park atmosphere. Knoebel's, located just north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, is on the outskirts of Elysburg. The town of Elysburg is quiet and quaint; it contrasts the energy of the amusement park experience. A large number of the people, who live near are park employees, giving the park area a warm and personal vibe. Knoebel's family has owned and operated the park since 1926. You can still go there and meet people from the original Knoebel's clan. Like most parks where you have to pay a flat admission rate, Knoebel's sells all day bracelets for thirty dollars or you can ...

What Bumper Cars Taught Me About Selling

This past weekend, we went to an amusement park. One of the rides I always enjoy is " electric Bumper Cars for russia ." At this park, the ride was set up differently, there was basically a oval course, the objective was to get around the course as quickly as possible. It was fascinating to watch the different approaches people took. Some looked at the course, realizing if they went to the center, they would have the least distance to cover. They raced to the center and tried to cover ground as quickly as possible. Because a lot of people had the same strategy, the center was congested, cars started hitting each other, they'd get spun around and things got jammed up. There were a few very focused drivers, that tended to avoid the worst spots, and made their way around the course quickly-they had a strategy, they watched what was happening and adapted their strategies to avoid getting trapped and slowed down. Others took a more cautious route, they saw people rushing ...
